Catherine Filloux

Catherine Filloux is an award-winning playwright who has been writing about human rights and social justice for over twenty-five years. Recent productions include: Kidnap Road, which premiered at La MaMa in New York City in 2017; and Selma ’65, her play about the civil rights movement and the KKK, at La MaMa in New York City, where she is an Artist in Residence. Her recent awards include the Otto René Castillo Award for Political Theatre (2017); First Art & Peacebuilding Scholar from Joan B. Kroc School of Peace Studies, University of San Diego, California (2016); and the Planet Activist Award (2015), to acknowledge Filloux’s dedication to art and activism in the theatre community.
