John Taylor

John Taylor has translated several French writers and poets into English, including, for Seagull Books, Philippe Jaccottet, Catherine Colomb, Georges Perros, and Pierre Chappuis. He has been awarded translation grants from the Sonia Raiziss Charitable Foundation, the National Endowment for the Arts, the Academy of American Poets. His essays have been collected in his critically acclaimed three-volume Paths to Contemporary French Literature as well as his Into the Heart of European Poetry and A Little Tour through European Poetry. His most recent personal books are The Apocalypse Tapestries and If Night is Falling.
