Ananda Lal, a theatre and translation specialist, retired as Professor of English from Jadavpur University, Kolkata. His important books include Rabindranath Tagore: Three Plays and the Oxford Companion to Indian Theatre. He directs Writers Workshop, Kolkata, and runs kolkatatheatre.com.
