The Arab List

The Arab List introduces to English-language readers, in many cases for the first time, contemporary voices from Palestine, Kurdistan, Syria, Iraq, Lebanon, Egypt, Morocco and other parts of the Arabic-speaking world, including writers of the diaspora—displaced, exiled and in refuge. Through fact, fiction and verse, this list is an attempt to knit and unravel the fragments of identities—religious, ethnic and profane—in the contemporary Arab world from the vantage point of the individual, silenced and forgotten amidst the fog of strife. These books seek to unfurl the contingencies of the contemporary and be a mirror to the times.
