Rizia Rahman
Rizia Rahman (1939–2019) was a prolific Bangladeshi writer whose work received several awards including the prestigious Bangla Academy Award, the Bangladesh Lekhika Sangha Gold Medal, and the Anannya Literary Award. In 2019, she was honoured with the Ekushey Padak, Bangladesh’s second-highest civilian award. Rokter Akshar, or Letters of Blood, is one of her most celebrated novels.
